Protect Your Hair Power!

Protecting your hair is just as important as protecting your skin. The environment can cause some damaging effects on the hair. It is imperative when you and your friends and family participate in outdoor and water-sports, think of your hair. Whether natural or chemically treated, invest in haircare products that will protect against sun & water.

Many consumers invest time in money into haircoloring and chemical straightening services, at their favorite salon. Protect your investment against the environmental factors that can & will damage your hair. As good as the sun may feel, it will deplete your hairs natural moisture causing it to dry out and split ends. The sun will also change your hair color leaving it looking brassy. Especially in the hotter climates if you are going to be out in the sun, it is wise to use a hair protectant. Most of these products have SPF or UV protectant. Even if you are just laying out tanning and you your hair is natural without chemical, try investing in a leave in conditioner. This will maintain your natural hair.

When indulging in water activites remember your hair. The chemical that is used in pools is chlorine. Chlorine is a very strong chemical and can severely damage the outer cuticle of the hair. This will cause hair to dry out, discolor, and ends will split. Chlorine can leave a greenish gray cast on the hair. Especially on lighter hair shades in the blonde tones. Prior to your dip in the pool use a hair or swim cream. There are many out on the market. Apply product prior to getting in the pool. Seawater or saltwater also has a drying effect on the hair. Salt draws out the natural moisture in the hair. When getting out of the water rinse your hair thoroughly and reapply product or a leave in conditioner.

My advice is when sun bathing, swimming, or any outdoor sports where you are in the sun for long hours, protect your hair. Whether chemically treated or natural. These are preventive methods to hair damage. Now go out and have fun!!!!
